Guard Rails can be split into three basic components namely;
- the base, used to fix the Guard rails to the ground
- the post which is used as a linking mechanism and finally, the steel beam.
The system most commonly used on SA roads are the steel W beam guard rail. This installation comprises of wooden posts “fixed” into the soil with steel W beams attached.
Our Guard Rails can be used to steer a vehicle back into the road or slow it down until it stops completely. In many cases it can also be beneficial to slow down the vehicle so that it can pass the rails. mostly, hitting a guard rails is safer for the driver than hitting something like a tree or utility pol. These Rails are also beneficial for installation in industrial warehouses or premises.
